A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.
We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from National Book Award finalist and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.
Read it.
And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed this book a lot. I even cried while reading the last chapter of this book. And when I mean I cried I do not mean I was tearing... I mean tears streaming down my cheeks and I needed tissues before I finished the last chapter. I felt all the grief Cadence was feeling during the last chapter, I hadn't suspected the ending/twist and I kept trying to guess what had happened during summer fifteen. I thought the writing of this book was also so good.

I'm only going to briefly talk about what this book was about because I think you should go into this book blind. Not knowing anything other than it's about a girl named Cadence who is from a wealthy family. She and her cousins, aunts, and grandparents go to their island during the summer and spend it together. Something happens and nothing is the same anymore. Their family isn't perfect like they try to preserve to be.

I recommend this to people who like contemporary/mystery/romance. I gave this book 5/5 stars on Goodreads! I loved it. It seems that this book has been a hit or miss with people. I don't know if I enjoyed it so much because I didn't really pay any mind to all the hype that this book was getting before it was released. I didn't listen to what everyone was saying and I loved it so much.

I really hope you all really love this book too!
