I was very excited about receiving this cookbook when I read about it. It focuses on plant-based recipes for so many different types of meals but specifically for baked goods. It was a pleasant surprise to find out the authors of Make with Love are Canadian and specifically from Burlington, Ontario. They are the owners of Kelly’s Bake Shoppe and Lettuce Love Café located in Burlington and I definitely want to pop in and see what else they have in store to try!

This is a wonderful cookbook and I love that it’s plant-based. The recipes are simple to follow and like the last cookbook I reviewed, also included a blurb before the recipe about why they love it or how the recipe came to be.

Before readers dive into the recipes Make with Love focuses on their story, why they eat plant-based foods, they go over a “typical” weekday and weekend meal menus, plant-based ingredients you will need, what you can substitute for eggs, butter, lard, milk and cream, etc., which I think is so important because I fell for most people at first, we don’t know what to use as substitutes.

Also, I can’t forget to mention, the photographs in this cookbook are beautiful!

I think it’s so wise and important to include condiments and sauces. This cookbook encourages me to live more of a plant-based life.
